SPECIAL EVENTS · PREPAREDNESS · RESPONSE COORDINATION
Prepare the organization before the crowd arrives.
High-profile events create compressed timelines, complex partner networks, elevated consequence and little tolerance for unclear roles. HSS helps organizations plan, exercise and coordinate before the event—and support operations when additional capacity is needed.
Special-event readiness from planning through improvement.

REPRESENTATIVE EXPERIENCE
Preparedness for nationally significant and complex events.
HSS supported a regional homeland-security tabletop exercise preparing agencies for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, facilitating HSEEP-aligned discussion, supporting evaluation and contributing to after-action analysis. HSS leadership also brings prior experience supporting planned and no-notice incidents, national security events and large multiagency operating environments.
Special event emergency planning services
HSS helps organizers and public-safety partners connect event planning, interagency coordination, executive decisions and operational readiness. A clear scope distinguishes preparation from exercise validation and event-day support.
Choose the engagement around your need
Planning and coordination
Review event hazards, partner responsibilities, notification arrangements and decision thresholds for protective actions or event interruption.
Readiness workshops and tabletops
Use tabletop exercise facilitation to bring organizers and agencies together, and executive crisis leadership workshops to focus on senior-leader decisions before event day.
Response support and improvement
Define any EOC or coordination support separately, then scope after-action review and improvement planning to capture findings and priority actions following the exercise or event.
What the engagement can deliver
- Event planning inputs, coordination tools or agreed plan products
- Workshop or exercise objectives and participant materials
- Role, notification and escalation tools as scoped
- Findings and improvement actions with an appropriate handoff
What to prepare
Share event type, dates, location, expected operating conditions, involved organizations, current plans and available planning capacity. Start early enough to involve the people who own key decisions.
Questions before you engage HSS
Can HSS support planning without event-day staffing?
Yes. Planning, exercise support and staffing can be contracted separately, with the organization’s responsibilities and handoffs documented.
Does a tabletop replace an event emergency plan?
No. It examines plans and coordination; it does not substitute for documenting and approving the arrangements people will use.
What drives consulting effort?
Event complexity, agencies involved, plan maturity, planning meetings, exercise scope and any agreed event-day or after-action support.
